Brightwheel

Brightwheel is a secure, all-in-one communication platform that keeps families connected to their child’s day. With real-time updates, easy messaging, and convenient check-in features, Brightwheel helps streamline the parent experience at CCL.

Family Conferences

Twice a year, CCL hosts family conferences to discuss each child’s growth, learning, and classroom experience. Using a modified version of the OUNCE assessment system, teachers provide thoughtful, individualized insights that help families understand and support their child’s development.

Office Newsletters

Each month, the CCL office shares a center-wide newsletter filled with important updates, upcoming events, and highlights from our community. It’s an easy way for families to stay informed and connected throughout the year.

Brightwheel

At the Children’s Center of Lexington, Brightwheel helps families stay close to their child’s experiences. Teachers share photos, updates, and important reminders throughout the day. Families are able to message teachers, engage with their children's photos, and keep tabs on the school calendar through the free Brightwheel app.


Families also use Brightwheel for smooth daily check-in and check-out, making tuition payments, and accessing forms and announcements.  Brightwheel makes communication easy, clear, and personal - helping our community stay connected, informed, and part of the daily adventure at CCL.

Fall and Spring

Family Conferences

At CCL, we cherish meaningful connections with families. Each fall and spring, we offer family conferences where parents and teachers come together to explore a child’s progress, interests, and achievements. Families can choose in-person or virtual meetings, making it easy to join the conversation no matter their schedule.


To guide these conferences, our teachers use a thoughtfully adapted OUNCE assessment system. This observation-based tool focuses on social-emotional growth, problem-solving, language development, and motor skills—all captured through everyday play and interactions.



Conferences provide a rich, personalized snapshot of each child’s journey. Families leave feeling informed, supported, and inspired, while teachers gain valuable insight to nurture each child’s next steps. It’s a partnership that strengthens learning and keeps the CCL community thriving.

Newsletters and Community Postings

Communication is key at the Children’s Center of Lexington, and our newsletters are designed to make staying connected simple and enjoyable. Sent monthly—or sometimes twice a month—they feature exciting updates, upcoming events, and highlights from our classrooms that give families a window into daily life at CCL.


In addition to newsletters: important reminders, lunch menus, and event notices are posted on bulletin boards around the center, making it easy to catch up on essential information during drop-off or pick-up.


Together, these tools keep families informed, involved, and part of our vibrant community. From sharing playful classroom moments to announcing center-wide updates, our staff strives to help families feel connected every step of the way.
