CCL has provided high-quality childcare to approximately 70 families each year since 1971. We take great pride in our excellent reputation and the safe, loving, and creative atmosphere we provide for the children and their families.


On the night of August 20th, disaster struck when a pipe in an upstairs toilet broke, flooding our entire building for over 11 hours. The extent of the damage was severe—water poured through rooms, soaking flooring, furniture, books, and materials.

This event impacted every corner of our school wing, requiring us to reimagine and reorganize our spaces to ensure continuity of care for our families.


We are proud of how quickly CCL pivoted in the face of this crisis, but it has been an undeniably difficult few months. While we are grateful for the support of our insurance, there are costs that remain uncovered—replacing damaged materials, restoring spaces, and ensuring a strong future. 

 

As a nonprofit organization, we turn to our community to help us rebuild and move forward. If you are considering a year-end gift, we humbly ask you to keep CCL in mind. The Children’s Center of Lexington is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible.

Parent Involvement

CCL encourages and welcomes parent involvement throughout the school year. Parent breakfasts at the Center, evening workshops, work weekends, fundraising projects, etc. are held throughout the year.  Parents may contribute in other ways, i.e., accompanying field trips, attending Board meetings, being a room parent, or providing additional support i.e., marketing, fundraising, tech support, etc. 


Our Board is comprised of CCL parents, teachers, and Lexington community members. All CCL community members are welcome to attend our meetings, which take place online every month from September - June on the last Monday of the month. If you are interested in attending, please reach out to ccl@cclex.org for a link to the meeting.


Board committees often need and seek parent participation.  Speak to the Director, a teacher, or another parent about your ideas.  Fresh ideas are always welcome, especially if they are accompanied by a willing heart and a helpful hand.

CCL Alumni Directory Project

The Children's Center of Lexington is a community-driven program. Our mission is to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for families of all backgrounds to connect with their children's educators.


One of our goals this year is to connect with current and past families who have attended CCL. If you are interested in staying in touch with us once your child graduates our program, or if you or your child used to attend CCL and you'd like to hear about our upcoming plans and projects, please fill out our Alumni Directory Sign Up form.


You can opt into receiving a quarterly newsletter, being on our outreach list for events, or simply joining our directory in order to connect with other CCL community members. We are also hoping to host alumni events. If this interests you, we look forward to connecting with you!
